I didn't see this in the cinema so I don't know what It is like???:rolling: But I am a Tom Cruise fan, plus I heard some good things about MR also- is this worth buying as a Sight Unseen title? Or should I rent it first(at least just to watch the film without delving into the extras) and if I don't like it- then I can save myself the trouble of trying to off load it..... :o
Anyone see Minority Report(either at the cinema or has the R1 Disk) and what did you think?

Hi,
I saw it at the cinemas and thought it was very well done.
It brought forward a very interesting question and left me thinking quite a bit about it.
I'm getting it day one.
I think it will be a very to easy to move title so not much trouble there. I beleive ummie was trying to trade off her R1 copy. Perhaps you have something to trade for it, that is if it isn't already taken.
thanks
Yep... Very good movie, plot makes you think abit.

I saw it at the cinemas and really liked it, but I still say hire it first. Even if you are a Tom Cruise fan...
It's very well done. Especially the ceiling shot with the spiders and Tom in the bath.
But it has a few irritating 'Speilberg' quirks, and the plot has some big holes. I really like the hi-security facility with the side entrance off the street.:D
I know how to determine what to do. Did you really like Mission Impossible 2? If the answers 'yes' then definately go out and buy Minority Report. Cause you obviously don't consider an intelligent plot that important. And as pure spectacle, Minority Report is worlds above MI-2 ...
Of course if you didn't like MI-2, then you may want to hire..

The best I've seen since Dark City. You don't have to be a fan of Tom Cruise to watch this film. A few plot holes and a bit drag near the end but very well directed by Speilberg.
A must for Sci-Fi lovers

Has anyone who has bought the R4 version of Minority Report had trouble with the DTS soundtrack? Mine won't play it.

I've got the R4 and there was no issues with the DTS soundtrack. Perhaps you should exchange yours over.
Thanks

Hey dude,
You can't access the dts track on the fly,you have to select it from the menu.I havn't watched my copy yet but checked the first few minutes and it sounds fine.

don't you just hate that. The same holds true for the subtitles. Why can't they make them accessible on the fly like most others??

I am aware. It doesn't work when accessed from the menu. I took my copy back to Myer today and tested another one there and it is the same. No audio option can be selected from the menu, even the foreign language stereo soundtracks.

I just watched it now, thought it was pretty good. Few twists, didn't think much though of the dts sound or is it just me?

Thought it was friggin awesome. Much better than I was expecting. Spielberg has definately taken it up a notch since that piece of crap A.I.
Guessed some of the twists, such as the 'motivation' twist, but did not pick the twist of that twist. ;). Very clever / cool.
Over-all, if ya aint seen it, give it a look :D

I still havn't had a chance to watch it properly yet but previewed about the first 15 min.Dts sounds groovy, totally clear, detailed and immersive. It dosn't seem to be as aggressive as some dts tracks i've heard(example;behind enemy lines),the machines taking off arn't exacly roomshaking. It's a bummer not being able to compare with DD on the fly:mad: .Looking forward to watching it properly.
Ok watched it now and give a high rating all round.A must for any si fi fan with lots of rewatchablity on a high quality dvd.It has lots of elements from other movies but done with it's own distinctive style. If you already have the following movies in your collection then your gonna want this one.Strange days,12 monkeys, blade runner, memento.
