Hi
Can someone please tell me the benefit of component switching, or composite to s-video switching? how it works & what to do?
Thanks

If your TV takes component (highest quality commonly available, alongside
RGB), your DVD player outputs component, but your VCR only outputs
Composite, then with many amps, you would need to run two outputs from the
amp - one Component and one Composite - and switch the TV inputs over to
watch one or the other (hassle).
If your amp 'upsamples' to component, then you just run component out to
your TV and never have to change it's inputs...
No quality gain, just a connection convenience...
