Hi,
I have my PC in a room that is separate to where my home theatre system is setup. The distance between them would be approx 15 metres. I need to connect the PC to the amp and the PC to the TV. As the amp has TOSLINK connections for input and the limiting 10 metre factor for TOSLINK cables, can you offer a solution that I could use for this connection? My output for sound on the PC is TOSLINK as well. I would ideally love to have an inline adapter which could covert the TOSLINK to glass fibre, which could then be run to the other end and converted back, but I haven't been able to locate such a product. Any information to assist is greatly appreciated.
As an aside, is there any limitation in running S-Video for the video over 15 metres or is there a better solution?
Cheers,
Morrie

Optical fibre is glass fibre. So I think all you need is an optical fibre repeater with S/PDIF TOSLINK connections.

You will probably need to excuse my ignorance here, but isnt TOSLINK
just the type of adaptor at the ends the fibre optic cable? Why would
that limit the cable length? Surely the medium limits it?
Dont know if its economically feasible, but if you are limited to 10
metres, is a repeater an option?

what about converting to coax ? i think Jaycar sell converters and doesn't
coax have the ability to go further ?
