Hi,
I have just bought a new Panasonic Widescreen TV, which is a 100Hz / Prog Scan / HD ready TV. My DVD is a Harmon Kardon DVD21 which does not do prog scan, and only has scart or s-video outs. Wouldn't have been my No.1 choice of DVD player, but I got it bundeled into a combo deal with my amp...
I am currently connected with s-video, and the picture is pretty bloody good I have to say. I am happy enough, but always hungry for new gadgets so...
My question is, is it worth upgrading to a new prog scan DVD player, and connecting using the component connections? I am wondering, will i get a better picture with a $180 prog scan DVD player via component than I am from my $500 HK unit over s-video?
Upgrading from a good quality RCA lead composite connection to a $60 s-video cable improved sharpness and definition a little, but didn't exactly blow my socks off...
Cheers
