With this year looking like having some great 3 disc sets released such as blade runner, dawn of the dead and black hawk down i was just wondering what other dvd's you guys think should get a proper special edition treatment.
I personaly think blade runner has been crying for for the proper release that this classic disserves.I'm first in line for it so just form a cue behind me:PI

Heat is a great candiate,it's such a long movie there is no room for anything else and dts would be cool to.Maybe a superbit special spread over 2 discs with another disc of extras.I would buy that in a heartbeat.
I would like to see Special Editions of the following:
- Schindlers List
- Deep Impact
- The Fan
- Over the Top
- The Green Mile
- Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence

War and Peace Soviet original. It has just come out in Russia and USA. A terrific 4 disc set, so that is top of my list.
One film I would love to see on DVD this year would be Flesh & Blood by Paul Verhoeven. Fully uncut edition, with a commentary.
As far as I am aware this has only ever been out on Video in USA and was an R (cut) edition.

I want a SE of varsity blues, with the deleted scenes I see on the trailer, but are not in the film. Would like ANY kind of feature or extra, besides the trailer.
 :(

I would also like to get this year the Criterion release of Ivan The Terrible Parts 1 & 2.. Been doing a bit of history of this historical dude, and if the film is faithful to his character then this would be an awesome film.

Great I just found out this is OOP. Well it seems to be anyway. Image entertainment have it as 2 individual releases. God only knows the quality from them. I bet it wont have any restorement done to them.
and Ruscico in Russia will have it in 2004. Dammit!! (anyone here got the criterion release?)
ah salvation. is part of a box set by the director (Sergei Eisenstein). Not cheap but... mmmm
ah the old Brits have it too. Extraless though it appears... mmm decisions decisions.

A speedy release of Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door would be nice.

Goodfellas SE
Raiders of the Lost ArK
Blade Runner SE
...and Citizen Kane 60th Anniverary Edition (assuming its identical to the R1 release. No idea if its actually coming to R4 anyway. If it doesn't I'll import)
'Battle of the Planets' Boxset (R1) -said to be in the works from Rhino. I refuse to buy the local Siren discs as they're missing the Gatchaman episodes.

It was on TV a few months ago. Should be at most video shops.
Not something I'd be adding to my DVD collection on purpose.
