Region 4 NTSC means that the coding is region 4, but the picture is NTSC, and as long as either your DVD player or TV can play NTSC (refer to manuals) everything will be fine.

Warner Bros. released a heap of dvd's as Region 4 NTSC, And I curse them for it. I can play them, but NTSC dosn't have the res. that PAL does.

Yeah it sucks that they do it, but I wonder if they didn't would we get the films.

Good to see some of them have now been done in PAL such as The Goonies - but I wont bother updating myself

The only thing that irritates me is even though these discs are NTSC we still have to wait an extra 9 -12 months to see them down here. If they're gunna make us wait that long anyway, I wish they'd go to the trouble of making the PAL disc. But of course, that would cost them more money...

Well at least you dont get the pal speedup:D .
What pi$$es me off is when you buy a R4 disc and discover they have left the best extra off the local release:mad:

I notice the difference. The picture lines look further space apart.

Plus if you get a Panasonic TV like me, you can get a constant annoying flicker non stop in the right hand corner in NTSC films. And I cannot remove it, no matter what settings I play with

Depending on what type of TV you have and how well you have calibrated it, the difference between the two can become marginal and non-important. (imo).

I dont get any flicker in the corner of the screen with ntsc on my LG widescreen,i did get it before with my old philips widescreen.I do seem to get more jaggies on the pal stuff with the slow panning shots that i never used to notice with my philips. It's swings and roundabouts i recon,i just try to buy the best available featured disc from whatever region.
