Over the past two months my computer has gotten several different STOP errors at
>startup. The most recent reads:
>STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FA, 0xF7924638,OxF7924338,0xF73DA81E)
** ntfs.sys - address F73DA81E base at F73A0000, datestamp 3d6de5c1

I've also received STOP 0x50, STOP 0x7E and STOP c5 errors. Then there are times
when I first boot up my machine for the day when, after the "Intel" screen, the screen
goes blank. The Windows XP logo doesn't come on. I know the computer is still running
because I can hear the fan going.

This new STOP message is usually the result of a problem with the file structure on the hard drive or possibly the drive itself.

It kind of makes me wonder if it isn't somehow related to the "computer not starting up in the morning" problem.

Nope, it's a Maxtor (if I'm not mistaken, the model number is 34098H4). I know that it for sure has 41.0 GB and it runs at 5400 RPM. It's an ATA-100 drive and it's currently running at UDMA-5. It used to be running at UDMA-2 before I realized a few months ago the drive didn't have the 80 conductor cable installed, so I changed it to one of those. I also installed the Intel drivers for Ultra ATA storage for this motherboard. But I don't think that is what caused the problems (the dirvers), since I use to get STOP error messages before making the switch, as well.
