Thanks for the info on that, I've always wondered what happened to the
rest of the V Saga, having purchased the other 2 boxed sets...

It went very rapidly down the toilet - that's what happened to it. :) (the
Charles and Diana thing still gives me nightmares) :P
Still - it did seem silly to bring out the DVDd of the mini-series and not
follow it up.
Check out http://thevisitors.info/ for news on the new V series (which
completely ignores the old series and possibly the second mini-series too).

I dont see why they need to ignore the series.

Agree that's bizarre. Why would they? About ten years ago a bunch of
friends and I sat down and watched the entire series over a weekend.
Aah, youth... those were the days! LoVed it.

[snip re V The Series and the new series ignoring the continuity]
>Agree that's bizarre. Why would they?
Because its shit and almost universally thought so. I was a huge fan
of the 2 mini series but the series itself is dire and I thought so at
the time it first aired. Plus the original creator, Kenneth Johnson,
who was forced out after the first miniseries, disowns it and he is
one of the creative forces behind this new series.
He dislikes the second mini series as well, Looking at it now I can
see why, its enormously cliched. I still enjoy it though.

Why not? You always assume that you do. In this case you are simply wrong.
I was a huge fan of the original min-series (both of them) but the follow on
series was just awful. Too much soap opera. Most of the action was cut for
budget reasons (you can't have sci-fi battles with no special effects). The
story lines didn't advance anything that was started in the mini-series.
After massive ratings on the mini-series, the tv series ratings were
abysmal. The creator of "V", Kenneth Johnson, disliked the series so much
that he is completely ignoring it for the upcoming series.
Seriously, was there something in particular you liked about it? A favourite
episode perhaps? Anything??

Wrong.
Ian and his one friend do NOT answer for the rest of the planet.

No, I didn't think there was anything you could name.
The Charles and Diana wedding is the only thing that sticks in my mind about
it - but not in a good way.
Anyway, makes a change to see you admitting your mistake. :)
Don't bother replying - I've lost interest in your drivel.
