Hi Guys,

I have just invested in an iPaq 2200 Series which has come packaged with the Nevo Universal Remote software, whilst I don't intend to use this only as a universal remote it's a nice tool to have when I'm not at work. So far I've successfully set up my Home Theatre, TV, CD Player and DVD but am stumped at the STU. The model number under the box is DCN1000 and as far as I can ascertain from reading forums, websites and so forth it appears that this is manufactured by UEC in South Africa.

All I need is either the Remote code to be used or alternatively a pointer to where I might be able to go to download some Device Control software. I've tried the Sky Cable downloads from www.mynevo.com with no joy.

Your help would be appreciated.

Apparently there is some issue in that the foxtel box uses a
different/faster communications protocols that causes issues with some
universal remotes.

quote from another newsgroup:

Harmony remote nobled by Foxtel
June 2004
By David Richards
The highly popular Harmony remote has been nobbled by Foxtel Digital.
An internal memo from the distributors of Harmony remotes has revealed
that all universal remotes will have to be re engineered to be of use
in Australia.

Image Data Technology distributors of the Harmony remote have admitted
to resellers that the product is incompatible with Foxtel Digital.

In a memo distributed this week, IDT have said that due to the high bit
rate transmission utilised by the Foxtel Digital Set Top Box (Pace
DS420NF) the Harmony Remote Controls, and most other "Universal Remote
Controls" are unable to learn or transmit the Infra-Red commands
generated by the Foxtel set top box. The memo goes on to say "This
issue cannot be resolved"

The technical director for IDT Mr Nick Beavis said "We have alerted the
manufacturers to this problem. The bottom line is that the
manufacturers are going to have to re design the remote for the
Australian market"

The memo to resellers says" We have escalated this within our
engineering department. It seems that this digital box company has
elected to use a protocol of codes that no universal remote can be used
with Foxtel Digital due to the inherent technology used.".

Beavis said "We are planning on contacting Pace the manufacturers of
the set top box for Foxtel to see if they can assist us in resolving
this problem"

For now, there is no solution we can offer other than using the
original remote on the Digital box.

My Harmon/Kardon AV receiver learning remote control can not learn some of the
buttons on the satellite SD Foxtel remote: channel up & '9' among others.
