purchased a Sony kvhx32m31 a few weeks back.

already had foxtel satellite tv. (standard, stb/decoder is dsd 720)

i've noticed on some programs, particularly tv1 shows like star trek etc that the colours on peoples faces seems to ripple. really noticable in darker (light)scenes.

not sure if this is the tv or stb or the combo. ive only noticed it since i got the tv.

any one else have this problem?

also, anyone have this tv? what are your thoughts?

(p.s. i wouldve bought the kvhr32m31 if i'd known the difference in resolution at the time. the sales guy at JB said they were the same but just different tubes, when i asked. didnt mention anything about the gulf in quality on HD, which i have since noticed in other shops where they are side by side)

I'm considering buying the kvhx32m31 which is a d**k Smith for $2499.

Do you think the kvhr32m31 is that much better?

I've looked at them side by side and haven't noticed much difference.

How much did you pay for it buy the way?

i paid $2599 about 4 months ago at jb. i expect you'd do a lot better than $2499 now.
you'll only notice a difference on a HD broadcast. if i had my time again id get the kvhr, but only for future, as there's hardly anything worth watching on HD right now and the STBs are a ripoff. SD you will notice zero difference.
i know someone who got a panasonic super fine pitch ..pw200 at myer for $2400 a few weeks ago. but im happy with what i have so far.
