DSTB or STD

Thius may sound silly but:
Do you need a Digital TV to use a Digital set top box as apposed to a Standard set top box to recieve a digital channel.
I am looking at buying a box to recieve digital tv and at the moment only have a standard tv.

"Ordinary" TV will do just fine.
Obviously the better the TV the better picture you will be able to display.
