I have an older Onkyo HT receiver which recommends a minimum speaker
impedence of 6 ohms. My centre channel is 8 ohms (good) but the mains are 4
ohms (bad).
After some googling I have read that an autoformer can be used to
effectively double the impedence of the 4 ohm speakers to 8 ohms.
First question is would getting an autoforner be worthwhile, and if so,
where can you get them from in Australia (preferably Sydney). Searches I
have done so far indicate I can only get from the US at places like
www.partsexpress.com
Any info or guidance would be appreciated.
Cheers
