OK you techos probably think I am dumb, but I have now bought a 86cn Panasonic TV, a Samsung 3 in 1 combo. I now have to set it all up and not looking forward to it.
I already have a Panasonic AV Receiver model SA-He70, this has inputs for both DVD and VCR, the Samsung combo only has one component out (2 audio and one video RCA jacks). Do I get RCA cable which goes from one to two leads, thus needing three in all.
What is an RS-232 socket? (there is one on the back of combo)
Thanks

That's the best part ;)

Providing the Samsung combo can output everything via the component
connection, just plug that straight into your TV for the best picture.
You didn't give the TV model but presumably it accepts component.

The Samsung website is very sketchy on details, it says 'component dvd
output' which suggests you may need to have a separate video cable for
the STB/VCR function, hopefully not.

For audio, plug the digital out into your amp (either via coax or
optical) Again hopefully the Samsung will provide sound for all three
this way too, if not you will need to connect from the analogue audio
out on the combo to the amp as well.

It's a serial port like on the back of your PC, probably there only to
allow you to update the firmware at some later time.

A question for you once it's all setup, is the dvd multizone? I was
looking at getting a Samsung changer, but I'm told it's R4 only.

Good luck, I'm sure I'll be quickly corrected if I've said the wrong
thing ;)

Cheers
