Hi all,

I was hoping for your input. I have finally persuaded my wife we need a DVD
recorder. I have up to $2000 to spend and am keen for your suggestions.

Here is my current set up.

Sony Wega 80cm TV with Component
Yamaha RXV 595a receiver with DTS
Foxtel digital. Not sure on the type of box but is only 3 weeks old and the
silvery colour box.

It is to replace my existing DVD player and VCR. What I want to do is
replace my DVD player and VCR for one unit. I want to be able to playback
DVD's obviously and also record both free to air tv and foxtel digital tv
for playback at a later date. I also do like the idea of having a hard drive
inside the dvd recorder to enable me to store or record numerous programmes
on there. While we are away for example.

I also want the bells and whistles of skipping adverts, recording whilst
watching (timeslip ?) etc etc .

Thanks for any suggestions

I got this one for $1600 from JB-HIFI

I'm pretty happy with it so far.
