Hi,

Hoping for assistance from those more learned than I. Have been researching for a while but find myself getting confused with mixed messages from 'experts'.

Here are the criteria I've confirmed thus far, otherwise open to all suggestions.

- Have $3000 budget, happy to buy new or new used within this
- Want CRT 76 - 86cm WS set
- NOT really interested in HD capability - seems pretty pointless in Australia, due to very limited content.

Have been impressed by a few of the Philips Pixel Plus sets and also Grundig Lenaro?

So seek advice on:

1. Your tip on best tv to get.
2. Where you recommend shopping for it.

Much thanks in advance for your consideration and assistance, :-) Nick

I do home cinema designs and I cant speak highly enough of the Grundigs. Have two myself and the picture quality is magnificent, and they are unbelievably customizable. I find with those produced in Asia you seem to get pictures that are more yellow. This isn't noticeable until compared to a unit produced in Europe...Grundig.

If your in Melbourne go to Klapp Electronics, Windsor. Their great there. Have great advice and very reasonable prices.

Happy shopping...

P.S. If you want to open up and add a bit more you can get a non HD Hitachi Plasma 42" which looks great and will last 60,000 hours. Speak to JB-HIFI about that one.
