Is it worth attaching HD box to LG 66cm Widescreen

I was wondering of you someone tried HD box with LG 66Cm widescreen? My TV is 50Hz and wondering would it be worth buying a HD box but not sure whether my TV is HD ready... Any advice would highly be appreciated.

Hi,

New myself so hopefully this isn't too far wrong, but am sure I'll get corrected if not....

First, confirm if your set is capable of displaying in HD format, but am almost 100% certain you'll find it isn't.

Second, is worth connecting to a digital set top box (STB) but if you don't have HD display capability, then you will not get any better result than using a standard STB. HD boxes are around $500+, whereas standard are about $150+.

Via digital STB, you should see considerable advantage rather than just using your analogue antennae set up.

So worth doing, but get a standard STB and save the $400 or so. :-)
