I've got one (120Gb HDD) and here's what I don't like about it:

-no "timer" mode, so if you want to set it to record something in 3 days
time, you have to leave the bloody thing on!
-seems slow to change channels
-I get jerky reception on Win, but with my previous unit (an EmTech )
reception on Win was fine
-manual is woeful
-when setting the unit to record, I sometimes get a message "signal is
unlocked at tuner B, record is impossible", and the recording does not
happen - does the manual explain what the problem is? no it doesn't!

apart from these glitches the unit operates ok. Overall I am a little
disappointed though.

cheers

Neither does the Topfield, you turn it off, and when it's time for the
recording setting it turns itself on and off again automatically. Are you
sure the Opentel isn't the same?

must admit, haven't tried that. I just wish the manual wasn't so hopeless.

I will give it a go.

Do a test-run on something non-essential.

Thanks Flyinyereye

It does work as you described - it came on to record, but immediately threw
up this message: "signal is
unlocked at tuner B, record is impossible".

apparently I need a firmware upgrade, which I am arranging now.

cheers

No problem. It's taken two decades for people to figure out how to set their
VCR, and now they do this! LOL.
