help with rgb to component

Hi guys, has anyone had any problems using the rgb to component converter with foxtel digital?
I have switched system settings to rgb but my display dosnt pick it up. It did kind of flicker on sort of for a few seconds before going back to a blue screen.
(my screen is a 40" TFT)
