Lots of problems with signal quality for me. Stick to analogue while you
can. IMO the extra features like Sky News Active (BIG deal) are just not
worth it and picture quality can be terrible

I disagree the picture is great and the sound is amazing and its not much more if not the same cost as analog foxtel. So if you go to digital you will be getting a much better deal. Also if you have a widescreen tv then its well worth it espesialy with showtime in widescreen and 5.1 sourround sound.

Its only the begining and their should be many more shows and channels comming soon.

Well a friend who is now subscribing was on the former cable service so he is loving the much improved picture and audio digital quality (not much of an incentive for us already on the analogue satellite service as we've had the same quality for years now). He's on a two year contract and pays around $88 a month. When he got the service installed he was happy cause of the no. of channels but three months later he's found he isnt actually watching the service as much as he thought he would and has commented on the sheer number of repeats and commercials (all of which we are of course paying for!). He likes a couple of the new channels but isnt really impressed with the Sky News interactive feature. Overall, he'd give the service 5/10.

As for the comment about more channels coming, it certainly couldnt hurt and if anyone is thinking of upgrading, wait awhile for Foxtel to offer more incentives. You might get a few extra freebies out of it and save yourself some dollars.

I know when its working properly the picture and sound is superb but we have
had signal quality problems even resulting in us loosing it for a few days
at a time. It seems to be variable from area to area and somehow the signal
strength is inconsistent and drops to unacceptable levels. Just my two
penneth, we (well us personally) never had these issues with analogue..

I had Austar and so has a friend, we have both cancelled the service because
we don't want to pay over $50 a month to see repeats of he same programs
every 6 months, and lets face it, $50 will get you a shit load of DVD's from
blockbuster if movies are your bag, I just don't see the attraction in it.
