Can I just use this product to record foxtel digital and FTA digital on its
hard drive ?

No. It cannot record from inputs.

Its 2 inbuild DVB-T tuners!
It is a fantastic product, totally changed my FTA viewing (never had payTV,
never want it, I could imagine if you had pay TV the Toppy wouldn't quite be
so useful to you, well, it may still be, as you can watch something on Pay,
and record 2 things at once on Aussie Digital Free To Air)

What Tony said. I don't have Foxtel and don't what it either. But the
Toppy's the primo dual-tuner PVR STB available so far. For FTA TV it can't
be beat.

Buy a Pioneer (or other brand) DVD Recorder with a hard drive.
I have a Pioneer 510 and it has THREE lots of inputs. So you can record from
anything you like including FOXTEL, DTV, or any other source you like.
