View Full Version : Ceiling mounting Projector

I intend to mount my BENQ 6100 to the ceiling of my HT room, which is
an all-glass "Spanline" extension. I've taken care of the light
issues that result from the glass, but my concern is that the thin
aluminium ceiling material might not take the weight of the projector
& there is negligible internal roof space. Has anyone had any
experience of mounting on one of these ceilings, or indeed finding
some way of running the cables in them?
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.

haven't had one that tricky yet, but looks like AussieDuct maybe your best
friend. since space would be limited svideo would be the preferred
connection.
as the projector is quite light the roof should hold it up, otherwise rain
would cave it in. I wouldn't drill through it so that rain can sneak in! the
only drama maybe a slamming door will vibrate the image. I would be
concerned that your room is not secure enough for a home theatre especially
since your 'neighbours' can see in? I would recommend a lot of carpet to
help the acoustics of the room. goodluck, and I hope your projector is
bright enough!
