Has anybody any information on this new DvD Recorder. How does it
compare with the PIONEER DVR 310?

I understand it has PAL/NTSC Progressive Scan. Has anybody seen
pictures shown in PAL Progressive on a large Display?

Any information will be much appreciated.

I have one, not sure how it compares to the 310 but IMO it's a great
unit. What kind of other info are you after, if you haven't already
purchased one or the other ;)

Yes and it's quite good. Flicking between interlaced and progressive is
only available through the menu, so it's somewhat more difficult to see
the differences easily (the player it replaced had a physical switch)

The navigational menu is very good as are the menus it creates on
dvd-rs, erasing clips and finalising discs is quite quick too. My only
gripes are the time it takes to come on from standby, and that it takes
quite long to recognise any type of media, be it ram, dvd-r or ordinary
dvds. I'm not sure if that's common or not amongst other Panasonics or
recorders though.

June choice magazine stated the 310 has the best video out of all tested. P.C user magazine I received last night reported on the 310. The first in the tests was a LG but I think it was price related. I would buy the 310 if had a hard disk. I'm going for the 510.
No panasonics were in the choice report.

this is a post made simply to get the thread high enough to get Mr "Truly Wondrous" off the page.
