Is it possible to view Australian Foxtel or Optus TV via broadband internet, in other parts of the world? Well... specifically in the UK?
I guess I'd need the right equipment, and a Foxtel or Optus Subscription (to make it all legal)
But is it possible? Any hints or tips would be most welcome.
Thanks

As above stream it via the internet take a little bit of setting up. But
easily doable

No probs if you have broadband at each end, html front end and Infrared unit
will take care of the channel changing issue

Maybe cheaper to have someone use a TiVo to record whatever programmes you
want & then send as a DVD etc.
I guess that our satellite would not be able to be received in UK.

It is possible and available. No special gear required.
However, retransmission is illegal. Do a little surfing though and you'll
find a few retransmission sites with most of the Foxtel channels.
Retransmissions are usually in Shoutcast (use Winamp player) or Windows
Media formats.
The big channels like sport, news etc all there. A few channels like Home
Shopping are missing but I suspect that won't bother you!

You cannot get Foxtel or Optus TV in the UK.
Although Foxtel or Optus TV shares the same cable as their corresponding
internet services, it uses different frequencies and the TV transmission is
not over IP. (Translation: not an internet compatible transmission)
Subscription TV over IP will be available soon, but you're about 5-10 years
early before it becomes a reality.
