anyone happen to know the cheapest place to buy the X1 in oz? either 2nd
hand or brand new.

after investigating around, i found this to be the most recommended
projector by HT enthusiasts, would anyone disagree?
what might be better bang for the buck if so?

thanks
Peter.

But the Z2 has a much shorter throw. Perhaps it won't suit the
dimensions of the original poster's room? Perhaps he specifically
wants a 4:3 rather than a 16:9. Perhaps he wants a DLP unit and not
an LCD one. Blanket statements like "buy an XYZ" don't really help
much.

Peter D,
Electroboard used to be recommended as the cheapest place for an X1,
but I've just had a look on their web site and I don't know if it's
still listed. The Benq 6100 (available through www.neversoft.com.au
and lots of other places) is a very similar alternative for about the
same money.

Thanks guys.
i will investigate the Z2 dave.
yes i'd prefer 16:9 res as i enjoy widescreen. am a little bit worried about
the rainbow effect, do all DLP projectors share this anomily? if so i will
have to drop into my local harvey's to test my eyes on one of them.

Yes, to different extents. It depends on the person as much as the
projector. We've got a DLP projector, and no-one in my family has
ever seen a rainbow. Other people seemed to be plagued by them
though. If you're considering a DLP unit, best to go and watch a few
before you buy.
