Venue: The Corner Hotel, Richmond VIC

An Exclusive Promo Show

Alex Lloyd is, quite simply, one of the finest and most popular singer-songwriters Australia has ever produced. His musical career can be traced all the way back to his teen years when, as a 13 year old upstart, he started playing in pubs with his first band, the blues based The Beefs.

The new album - which at this stage should be released in the fourth quarter of 2005 - marks a new beginning for Lloyd. He has a new record label, new management and a new family, and says the songs he's penned reflect the changes that have occurred in his life over the past few years. "There's a lot of emotion involved. In a way, I see this album as being about having a new family and losing an old one".

To mark the beginning of this next chapter in his recording life, and the impending release of his fourth self titled album, Alex Lloyd will perform a very special intimate & exclusive private promotional show with full band aimed at entertainment industry invitees and special guests.

Gaelic Club is so tiny...the promoters should have book them in a bigger venue.:(

Rooster, great band. Only heard one of their songs on MMM and scored some tickets from MMM. Was tossing and turning if i was going to brave the weather and head into the city.
Can't say anymore than HELL YEAH well worth the trip, great band, great set, and sensational night. Ding Dong was only a smal venue, and they got it right. Was a sensational night and I can't wait to see Rooster again.

They were totally awesome!!!!! I just wish I had been free on Sunday to catch them at HMV to get my cd signed. Great bunch of performers, but I was disappointed they didn't do an encore and I don't think they sang To Die For which I love.

Melburnians who enjoyed CNNN and/or the Chaser
Cirque du Chaser

The Chaser, the team behind the ABC TV series CNNNN and The Chaser Decides are embarking on their first national tour, bringing their stage show, Cirque Du Chaser to audiences in Melbourne, at the Malthouse Theatre, Sept 29- Oct 2. Delivering their political satire in the form of stand up comedy, sketch, live music, and video, the double-Logie award winning team returns to their roots and gets back to what theatre is really about: abusing arts grants

OMFG  :D :D

Sorry, but I'm really excited at the moment :PI
I just had a look at the Blink 182 site (which hasn't been updated much since they're having a break) to find this:

Greatest Hits
9/6/2005 6:29:23 AM - by cgeorggin

Blink-182 "Greatest Hits" due out November 1st.

17 tracks from "Cheshire Cat," "Dude Ranch," "Enema of the State," "The Mark, Tom and Travis Show," "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" and "Blink-182."

Also included two bonus tracks - one recorded during the "Blink-182" sessions, the other, "Another Girl, Another Planet" (theme from "Meet the Barkers").

The CD package will also include a DVD of bonus footage.
Not sure if that release date is for Australia as well, but I hope so! :D

It would appear that Garbage will be playing another gig at The Forum in melbourne the night before they're due to be in Adelaide.
I'm happy enough to see them at the palais, but if you missed out on good tickets, it would appear the concert at the forum will be general addmission standing. :)

I doubt it, Travis is on tour with the Transplants, after that him and Mark will be working on a new band - Plus 44. Apparently Tom is the only one who wanted the break from touring and making music.
Have a look here (http://www.punkdisasters.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=629) at a translation from a French mag of an interview with Travis. Dunno if it's legit, but it is interesting.
