Featured are the finest batsmen - Viv Richards, Greg Chappell, Sachin Tendulkar, the Waugh twins, Doug Walters and Alan Border… the great bowlers - Dennis Lillee, Malcolm Marshall, Shane Warne, Glen McGrath…and the best all–rounders - Richard Hadlee and Ian Botham.

For over 30 years, Australia’s premier sporting network, 9’s WIDE WORLD OF SPORT, has been responsible for revolutionising how we view cricket in our living room. From classic test matches to edge-of-the-seat one day games, 9‘s WIDE WORLD OF SPORT cameras have captured some of the greatest moments of the modern game. These fantastic highlights are now available for cricket fans to enjoy forever in the Connoisseur Video and DVD Series.

Hosted by Nine Network sports commentator Ken Sutcliffe, The Modern Masters combines on-field action with interviews from some of cricket’s past and present heroes including Greg and Ian Chappell, Viv Richards, Alan Border, Glen McGrath, Sachin Tendulkar, Richard Hadlee, Dennis Lillee, Rodney Marsh, Ian Bothan and Shane Warne.


The Modern Masters on Video and DVD presents:
<LI> The great confrontations between New Zealand's Richard Hadlee and Australia’s Dennis Lillee;
<LI> The moment when burly Ian Botham hit Merv Hughes for 22 runs in one memorable over on his way to scoring 138;

<LI> The exceptional bowling talents of Australia’s Glen McGrath and Shane Warne;

The Modern Masters DVD also features unique extra footage, including further reminiscences from the commentators at the ‘Masters’ including:

Ian Chappell on: Viv Richards getting hit in the head, Sachin Tendulkar preparing to battle Shane Warne, Mark Waugh getting out in the 90s, The fielding of Steve compared with Mark Waugh, Richard Hadlee reaching 300 wickets, and Greg Chappell’s last Test appearance.

Greg Chappell on: Dennis Lillee versus Viv Richards.

Alan Border on: Richard Hadlee’s neatness, Malcolm Marshall’s determination, and Dennis Lillee’s aluminium bat.

Also featured are Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne’s hat tricks.

The Modern Mastershas a running time of approximately 105 minutes and features fullscreen transfer, scene selection, English subtitles for the hearing impaired and Dolby 2.0 Audio.

The second in a three part series, The Modern Masters is available from January 21, 2002, and will be followed by the release of The Streak on Video and DVD in February of 2002. The first Video and DVD The Vintage Performances is available now.
