I downloaded MSN Messenger 5.0, which I prefer over Windows Messenger. I want to know if it's possible to delete Windows Messenger. Whenever an icon appears on my system tray stating a network cable is disconnected (why does this happen anyway?) Windows Messenger starts automatically and I get logged out of MSN Messenger, which is annoying. How can I correct this?

hi,
what OS are you using?
With WinXP I fairly certain you need SP1 installed. I'm not sure with the other ones.
thanks

it seems the only way to get rid of it is to delete the actual program, i cant remember what dir it resides in but just do a search for it. I did this and had no problems since.

Actually, Alex's suggestion works best.
