Beware!!!

The unit on ebay is most likely using outdated firmware.

If so it WILL NOT play "PAL" progressive or "PAL" HDTV as it is from the USA
and suffer other issues that have recently been addressed in Australia!
Very specific development on the H30 has taken place in Australia for the
Australian market. The H30 runs very specific firmware tailored for the
market in which it resides, therefore any H30 from an external market will
not operate optimally in a foreign market.

The H30 has been available in countless different stages of refinement and
will continue to be refined. As new updates become available they are
passed onto H30 owners. Owners of H30 who have not purchased their unit
from authorised dealers will NOT be covered by the factory warranty and
therefore will have no means of obtaining the required upgrades as they are
only available through the supplied warranty.

Any H30s from external markets, "other than Australia" may be running
entirely different firmware and may not be optomized for use with
Australia's PAL system particularly if they originated from the USA where
they use the NTSC system. If they origated in the UK, they may not support
HDTV as I believe that is currently not available there?

Sure the price is good, but a bargain is only a bargain if it performs.
Buying an Optoma H30 without knowing its origins or history can be a risky
business as you never know what you will end up with.

Good luck!
