I would go for a 200gig. There is about a $100 price difference between the 250 and 200. Personally the extra 50gig for $100 doesn't seem worthwhile

Prices from thediscshop.com.au

Western Digital 250GB 8MB IDE - Caviar SE WD2500JB, 7200 RPM
$302.00

Western Digital 200GB 8MB IDE - Caviar 7200 RPM
$199.00

You might want to check some of the sites that sell modchips. Many of them can prepare a harddrive for you and it will only cost about $10-20 more than if you were to do it yourself.

What a sweet price. :) :p

I'd imagine the 250gb needs an extra platter compared to the 200gb? It's the only reason I can see for the extra $100 for 50gb.

I am not sure about using a computer to ghost a drive but if you have the xenium chip the smart drive upgrade does this for you.

ftping would take forever to transfer the ammount of info stored on an xbox hdd. i cant think why ghosting wouldnt work but that dosent really mean anything. The other option i thought of was to unlock your old drive attach it to your comp store all your files on the comp hdd then put in your new drive and transfer. it would still be time consuming. i really wish i hadnt stinged out in the first place and just bought a 160 gig hdd.

If you are only transferring the essential files and savegames it doesn't take too long, but yes, once you start going larger than 5-10gig it would take forever.

Thanx for all the input I know Ftp will work
and yes it will seem forever but then again if you had to load everything by disc again now that would see a life time
