G'day,
Due to circumstances within my control I've
decided to relocate to a unit, becoming a
bachelor again in the process. When all is
said and done I'll have a budget between
5 and 6k to install a home theatre system.
If you were me, what would you purchase?
Requirements are
1 x WS HDTV (76c is fine but open to
suggestions...remembering the budget)
1 x DTV capable STB
1 x DVD - record capable (I like the
Panasonic that lets me to record/view
simultaneously)
1 x Surround Sound speaker system
I'll be moving to an area with good FTA
reception, and HD and Digital available.
Chances are I'll also stay with Foxtel (if
only I wasn't a sport and Simpson's nut).
Quick question here too...if, as I will, have
my own D-STB, what's the story when
they rock up with theirs? Do I -have- to
use it?
It may appear I'm bludging and not doing
any footwork but I have been for the past
few weeks, to the point where it's now
becoming blurry and I feel I'm chasing my
tail. I'm seeking fresh eyes and thoughts.
Quality and reputation is more important
than brand or aesthetics.
Basically when it's all together I really
just want to be able to view and hear
something and think "effin A!"
Thanks for your time.
