Hi
I have purchased a DTR6000AU and am trying to name a recoding in advance. Basically if I set up a timed recording I want to be able to give the recording a name rather than it get saved as the channel name. Is this possible. Currently I
am getting lots of recordings called Ten Digital, 7 Digital etc. It's possible to work out what they are by watching or comparing start times but this isn't ideal. Any ideas? The user guide is not very good

It seems that none of the PVR "user guides" are that good, you think at
least one Korean would have a decent grip of the English language, if so,
they obviously didn't help out in the production of the "manual" (Strong's
manual was even called a "manuel" hahaha).
Throw it in the bin and get a Topfield.... sorry, couldn't resist!
That damn Thompson PVR hasn't had a whole lot of good publicity since it was
released... some retailers removed it from their shelves due to the "record
nowhere near 80G bug" that the orig f/w had..
I believe they recently released a newer f/w that may, just may, improve its
performance a bit, don't know if this will help with your recording namings
mind you.
I at least can tell you that the Topfield will pull the names down from the
EPG info *at the time the recording starts*, or, you can name the timer
recordings and override the filename info, and thus have a proper name
rather than the event prior to the program you are recording (which, if you
set your timer like I do, happens 99% of the time as you want to make sure
to catch the beginning of the program, and thus set the timer a little
earlier).

http://tonyspage.abock.de for some Topfield info including turning
those recordings into DVDs, adding features with the open source TAP
environment etc...
