I recently purchased a MediaStar HDT1100 high definition box & don't find
the fan a noise issue what so ever.
The unit itself was ultra easy to intall & get up & running......quite happy
so far.

The HDT1100 I have is also very quiet.(minimal fan noise) and a dream to
configure.
How do you find the remote?
mine has to be pointed directly at the receiver to work, is yours the same?
