View Full Version : best connection for STB -> TV
Hi guys, hearing alot of conflicting opinions on best way to connect the STB
to the TV, for optimal picture and sound quality.
My STB has SCART out, RF loop and basic AV out.
My TV has 1x SCART in, 1x Component in, 3x AV in, 3x S-video in.
The RF loop on my STB I will be using to connect the STB to my VCR, so I can
tape channel A on the VCR, and watch channel B on the TV. I assume this is
OK.
The Component in on my TV, I am using for my DVD player.
So obviously Im going to use SCART out on my STB ... but what adaptor should
I get to plug it into my TV ?
SCART -> SCART
SCART -> S-Video + L/R AV audio
SCART -> basic AV
cheers

If your TV SCART in accepts S-Video (might have to configure this in a
menu), then get a SCART-SCART; otherwise SCART-S-Video + L/R AV audio will
be the go.

Scart is only the connection, Scart (usually) can carry composite,
component, s-video, or RGB.
You have to find out what your TV accepts IN on the scart. Component is the
best way to go. If your TV doesn't accept component go with S-video.
Scart to Scart using RGB is the answer to your question.
