Hi
Just bite the bullit and buy a macrovision removal box (usually called a video stabiliser).
I bought one years ago and it has outlived 2 VCRs and now onto my second DVD player.

of course the vga output won't have macrovision...
the new jaycar vid stabliser (http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=kc5390&CATID=25&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=292)
also does svideo connections. There was also a really cute little TBC mentioned around here a while back - that will not only get rid of any signal distortions but re-clock the picture for even better transmission. let me know if you need me to find the link for the TBC.

I didn't know Time Base Correctors (TBC's) had become cute & or little, but it's been a while I spose since I saw one & it was rack mounted in a TV station.

Good unit, but at twice the price of what most people are willing to spend on their DVD player it probably limits their appeal :(
