Hi there,

I have a UEC Set top box (model 720i) and I have no instructions on how to set the thing up! What are all the channel frequencys in Sydney, so I can tune the damn thing in! Auto scan only manages to get ABC Sydney, ABC 2, ABC 3, and ABC 4!!!

How can I get Ten Digital, Seven Digital, etc???

Thanks in advance! :)

Don't use Scan DTT, Use Tune DTT.

All the capital city channel parameters are factory tuned in.
If you've changed anything, or you think someone else has changed something,
then perform a factory reset (done from Reset in the installation menu).

I assume you've got into there?
If not, use the Menu button on the remote, go to Installation & the
Installation PIN code is factory set to 1379.

Contact or visit Jonsa, they are one of the Australian distributors, ask can
the give you an instruction manual.

Thanks for your reply, Glenn P.

Do you know what settings to use in the Tune DTT? I'm only using bunny ears, so that's probably most of my problem anyways! :(

Honestly, I'm thinking of selling it because it's getting to be too much for me! If anyone wants it, let me know as I'm open to offers. E-mail me at alistair_m12002@yahoo.com.au if you're interested!

Cheers again :)

You don't input any settings into Tune DTT. Just highlight it & press OK, it
will automatically tune all the channels (receivable) in. The channel
setting are changed in the signals setup section, but as I said before do a
factory Reset & all channel settings will be restored. (The factory settings
can't be changed, so a STB reset will always restore the correct channel
settings for Capital city area's).

You say your using bunny ears. From an antenna installers point, I can tell
you that's pretty much all of your problem,
changing STB's won't help, it may well be worse, the UEC boxes are one of
the best for low reception signal level area's.

You didn't say what part of Sydney you were in?

Seeing as you can't get SBS, it probably wont make any difference, but you
may be able to tune into the translators, either at Kings Cross or North
Head.

To do this you will have to change the Channel numbers in the signal setup
section (above Tune DTT).

Only change the Channel numbers, DON'T change any of the other settings.
Change these for signals 1 - 4

Change Ch. 6 to 48
Change Ch. 8 to 33
Change Ch. 11 to 45
Change Ch. 12 to 30

Signal 5 = SBS stays exactly the same on Ch. 34 don't change anything here.

See if that helps.

Glenn P.

Hi again Glenn,

I am situated in Inner West Sydney - around Stanmore area. I managed to get 7 Digital going crystal clear and am happy with that, but because I use bunny ears, the reception is hovering at around the 45-50% mark, and I can't seem to get any of the other channels. Will have to try the SBS trick when I can.

If anyone is interested in purchasing it, please let me know either here or at alistair_m12002@yahoo.com.au and drop me a line. It seems like a bloody good machine, but my reason for sale is the fact we only have bunny ears! If I had a normal antenna you'd get all the channels no sweat! Any offers considered.
Cheers!

Oh and pickup in person is welcome too, or I'll post it anywhere in Oz.
