To backup my purchased music collection I have made a dvd with about 50 albums of dvds on it. Each album on the DVD has its own folder name.

This DVD plays fine in my computer but not in my "entertainment" system's DVD player (Centrex CTD-2100). This player handles mp3s in folders on regular CDRs with no problem.

Is playback in a set top dvd player not possible with mp3 dvds ???

Or is there a trick as to how you go about writing the dvd?? I used Nero v6.1.1.7.

Maybe it could be the media I am using.. el-cheepo UL-Tran white blanks ???

Any advice appreciated... thanks.

A lot of DVD players won't actually play mp3's off a DVD, even though they can play mp3 and DVD, the newer Mpeg4 DVD players all handle them ok, there are a few others on the market that can do it but at the moment there are not too many that do.

jok11n....

Thanks for that... now it makes sense... though i may have done something wrong.... now to buy a new dvd player..!!!

The old one was over 12 months old anyway and that makes it antique in todays world...

Thanks again... :dD

If you are after something cheap that will do what you want look for the DVX558 mpeg4 player, it's on for $99 at the moment. There is a new store opening at Greenhills if you are anywhere near that area, likely there will be some opening specials when that happens (OCT 9th)
