The G1629 is a combined video/DVD player I've bought as a cheapie second
player. It's been working fine with several DVDs up til now, but it has
a problem with my Collector's Edition CD of 12 Monkeys, the Bruce
Willis/Terry Gilliam film.
About every 10-20 seconds the picture freezes for 1-2 seconds; the film
actually continues behind the freeze so the effect is of a little jump
in continuity. It does not seem to relate to pans or anything else
happening on the screen, nor has it happened with any other DVD. The DVD
is a genuine region 4 PAL. The TV is a standard Grundig analog a few
years old.
Can anything be done? Faulty DVD, player, a setting somewhere?
BTW I have the instructions for disabling the region restrictions, but
how can I tell if they've had effect? Nothing seems to happen on the
screen as I do them. Thanks!
