Just bought Z330 and burnt a DVD+R with 809 mp3's on it. Z330 would only recognise 648 of the 809. I did not put any of the files into folders I just burnt them staright to the DVD. Would this make a didference??? All the files are on the disk when viewed and played on the PC.

I have discs with over 1000 mp3's and they play fine on the 330, they are in a few different folders though. I guess there may be a limit to how many mp3's you can have in the root directory.

I don't have that many in one folder, just putting the same amount of files in a different folder shouldn't change things anyway. Try using several folders with less files per folder but more total files and let us know the result.

Did that.....I put 648 in 1 file and the remainder of the 809 in the other folder and it sees them all....most perculiar.

There is generally a limit to how many files and folders can be used, I've never tried putting that many in one folder to know what the limit actually is though.

file limit for the root directory is 512 and for subfolders 1024, a carry over from the old 16bit dos specifications, which most embedded software systems use.

I originally had 648 in the root directory so I dont see how that works???

Possibly some jiggering with the numbers :)
theoretically under the original DOS spec you could have 1024 files in the root directory but then you had no table space for sub directory addresses maybe the player has a limitation of 255 sub folders and can then read the balance (1024-255) as file addresses.
Note: I was just indicating what the file limitations are usually based around, I wasn't assuming that any standards were being strictly adhered to.

Have you posted this question over on the Zensonic forums? There may be someone there that knows this already.
