Hi Guys, I just got the .1 of the 5.1 setup. Only a cheap Wintel, but it
works well enough with the rest of my system. Question is is there a
good way to use this thing on floor boards. The fish tank is suffering a
little;-). The floor boards seem to amplify it quite a bit. Any
suggestions? Oh, I did get a piece of carpet to put under it, it helped
a little.

Do what I did and buy a large concrete paver from Bunnings and use cut in half squash balls between the slab and floor - the sound will improve immensely and no more fish tank woes.

Well you might try to turn to turn the sub down for starters :-) quite
seriously have you balanced the sub with the rest of the system? My sub
slightly rattles the glass doors of a cabinet it's right next to but that's
about it. It shouldn't be causing any more undue vibration than that unless
the fish tank is straight on top of it.

Thanks Guys, I did play with the levels over the weekend, got it
right;-). The difference to the mid range is very unexpected. I guess
that because the centre and rear speakers are set to small, that it has
opened up the higher frequencies. i.e. they are no having to reproduce
the 80hz or less and drive the speakers so hard. Very surprised. I have
left the fronts as large, because of the young kids, it is a not always
easy to crank it during the night. Also training the wife to switch all
the speaker settings on the amp would be an issue.
But yes the volume did the trick, Pink Floyd sound alot better;-)

Thanks

Mark
