Maybe I'm blind, or stupid, or both, but I cannot find a goto function on the Z330 that allows you to jump to a specific time in a movie. Have an XMS888 and that is probably the most useful button on the remote ... allows you to check encoded files quickly.
Also nice if you have a favourite scene in a movie, to jump to it quickly.
Even my old crappy dvd player has this :(
All the Z330 seems to have is a chapter jump selector ... pretty useless for divx etc.

I'm pretty happy with the player and would recommend it to anyone.
Very good picture quality / sound.
Even plays a subtitle file the XMS888 and the Z300 couldn't handle.
I like how the menu hides subtitile files too.

Press the 'TIME' button.
There is a bug in current firmware, if you are playing avi files however. (It asks for the spot you want to jump to in the incorrect format, but requires you to put it in in the correct format)
e.g. to go to 1 hr 23 mins and 45 seconds into the file
1.) Press 'TIME' twice, screen shows --:--
2.) ignore what the screen says, and type in 12345 (screen shows 12:34, but waits for the final digit - 5 in this case)
3.) player jumps directly to 1hr 23mins 45 seconds

Oh is THAT how it's done. Thank you for that! been driving me nuts.

And agreed with gobbles... this is a great machine. My xms989 is now sitting gathering dust under my bed... piece of *&#$.

I think the potential for the 989 is fairly good, I've had it read DVD discs that neither the Z300 or the Z330 could read, but it is suffering from lack of firmware update from the factory.

Don't get me wrong - it does definitely have potential... but the OSD thing, combined with some totally bizarre behaviour, i.e. complete machine crashes when playing with the osd during dvd playback....

physically - good unit. Software? rubbish. Support? rubbish.

what they don't realise is that by not supporting this unit, I will -never- buy another unit of theirs. Neither will I give any recommendations for it... word of mouth for divx players is a strong selling point. When my friends have seen just how many episodes of family guy/simpsons/south park I can fit on one disk, so far - 4 are buying players. and because they've asked me - it's all going to zensonic. This trickle down effect will more than likely affect their friends too.
