Anyone else noticed the sharp decrease in the cost of digital memory?
Bank in May I was looking at 512Mb cards and the Sandisk Ultra II was about $200 at the time... looking at our sponsors website, look how cheap the 1 and 2Gb cards are!!

$385 for 2Gb is a steal ;) , my 512Mb card cost me $300 less than twelve months ago :(

The demand for these things is increasing quite significantly so it is to be expected.

Very good price on the 1GB.
I might have to place an order for one prior to heading to Bathurst..... :D
Yes, it has dropped a lot int he last 3 months.
I bought a 256M SD card for a friend in June and it cost $95. I bought the same one earlier this month and it was only $62. CF & MMC have also dropped a similar amount, but xD picture card is still around $130-$140 for 256M.
Just read, Sandisk memory cards will be available in Woolworth soon. Forgot exactly what kinds of models will be available through Woolies, but they will be sold as 50 picture cards, 100 picture cards etc.

Those are Sandisk's new line up. Similar to the blue ones. Not for DSLR's though..

Sandisk have been pushing for memory cards that work like film, you buy a small card, take your photos and then just store them. They have been selling 32mb and 64mb cards in the US for under US $15.

A recent special at Aldi was Flash media cards - 512Mb for $69! And I've seent eh 100 picture cards this week in a big W catalogue.
I purchased mine from JalDigital (online) for a good pricew - $130 for a T-Pro 1Gb. It's working wonderfully in my Canon EOS300D, very happy with it. Shop around by doing a Google search.
