Hi,
I've got an opportunity to get a set of new speakers to go with a Yamaha
RX-V2400 Amp.
I've been looking at Mission speakers, and was wondering if anyone's got
any thoughts on the following two packages:
m3 package:
Using the m35 as mains, m3c2 as centre and m32 as rears. I can get this
for under $2.5k
m5 package:
Using m53 as mains, m5c as the centre and m51 as rears. This costs me
about a grand more.
The m35 have a great sound, quite big and powerful while the m53 has a
more refined sound with a bit better midrange.
Does anyone have either of these two sets of speakers, and have any
comments on them?
Are the m5 speakers really worth $1000 more than the m3?
I do listen to quite a bit of music, plain-old stereo, but enjoy
cranking up a DVD on the weekends.
I will be running the system with an older Yamaha sub (80 odd watts, I
think) and am in the process of doing a DIY 350W sub...
I've also been looking at (listening to?) VAF speakers, and quite like
them, however a DV-7/6/2 setup (or is it the DC-3 in the rears now?)
with the 4th Gen models will be quite over $3k and I don't think VAF do
12 months interest free =) I _really_ like the stereo imaging that the
DC-7s have, it is quite amazing however they are a bit more tame on the
bass end.
I'm putting all this in a room that's about 6x4 metres, with 3m high
ceilings.
Cheers,
Kai
