Locally .. Sam's price [+$10 if you are picking it up from his shopfront ]
or CitySoftware up in Sydney's North Shore is quite good
[or bring their quote to Harris Tech n see what can they do :) ]
If you are not in a hurry, some eBAY sellers from HK is also cheap.
A friend just pick up one SD U2 2 GB a while back for $340.

Keep in mind that a 1 gig card won't fit on a CD so the practice of
burning your pics on a Cd before anything else, won't work. I saw
somewhere some 64 Mb CFCs. I just can't remember where!

I got some from this eBay shop at auction.
Cheap. Brand new and fast delivery. Little communication though.
You win. You pay. They ship.

Plenty of bargains around...
EYO (A Sydney based computer shop) sells 512Mb/1Gb/2GB Sandisk Ultra
II's for $121/$198/$385 Shipping is $9 flat rate, none of this $15~$20
crap. Collection is possible.
Or if you want peace of mind, got to Harris Technology, they have
512Mb/1Gb/2GB Sandisk Ultra II's for $120/$206/$411 Shipping is $10
Australia Wide. Collection is possible and they will even move the
stock around so that it is available at a store that is convenient.

Given that most files from a camera are betwen 500kb and 5mb, it's not
really that much of an issue splitting 1 gig worth of images onto two CDs...

I put mine on DVD-RAMs and my HDD, then when its full, burn to Verbatim
DVD-R's and also keep the DVD-RAM in write protect mode. I prolly reburn
then all in 5 years to make sure the discs don't fail.

Kibo informs me that Ryadia <dont_spam_ryadia@hotmail.com> stated that:

DVD-R burners are cheap now, as are the disks. They'll do 4.4GB on a
platter.
