Anyone have any word on these?

E.g. When they are coming out, prices, etc.

I've read on other forums that some people have actually got one, whilst when I rung up a few electrical stores the salespeople had'nt even heard of them. The website still has none of the information I am looking for.

Cheers.

It's all been a bit quiet re these sets. I spoke to Good Guys in Sydney a few weeks ago and the salesman didn't know anything about it. He was pushing the LG model very hard though - claiming the latest generation is just as good as Samsung's new HD3 chip etc.

Domayne might be worth a try. The chatter regarding DLP RPTV's on this and the DBA forum has been very quiet so far - not sure why as it's very popular in the US. I still think these sets should represent great value because of:

Large screen size
Very good picture (better than SD plasma & supposedly better than LCD RPTV too)
Reasonable price
Reasonable size - when compared with CRT RPTV
Useable in daylight

Is there much interest from other readers?

Rather than speculate I decided to drop down to Domayne (Alexandria, Sydney) for a chat. They had virtually no RPTV's on the floor other than CRT's. Had a chat to a sales guy & he advised that they've cleared all the LCD & DLP units out to prepare for the new arrivals.

These should be coming in about a month. (which is about a month later than originally forecast).

I've seen the same thing, which I had thought was interesting considering many think of the DLPs as a viable, worthy alternative to Plasma/LCD.

Clearing for the new stock does seem to make sense. The salesmen at the stores I checked out were also very keen to push the LG DLP.
