I am trying to play copied dvds* on my Sony DRU-700A (official site (http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru700adwn.htm) ) however they are not playing. I am told by the technical support team at Sony that this DVD writer should play all formats and regions of disk, however many disks that I try and play dont read (This is only the case for dvds. All Audio and data disks seem fine). What's unusual though is that they do read on my home dvd player (not drive). It seems to me as though it is some sort of coding issue and if so, im sure there is a way around it.
Another unusual thing is that, not only are the disk unable to be read by any of my media players (ie RealONE, Nero, WinAMP or Windows Media) but when i try and view the g: files in My Comp the disk comes up empty or i am told that "g:\ is not accesable" It seems for all intents and purposes that the disk(s) are corrupt but the fact remains that they play on my home dvd machine.
Can anyone offer me some clues as to what may be wrong and how i can find a way around it?
I really appreciate your help
sincerely

* For the sake of not having this email censored I would like to state that these disks are not pirated. I have full permission from the owners of the material!!!!
