Hi,
I'm thinking of getting one of these as it is cheap, and seems to be well recommended...
http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sanyo-PLV-Z1.htm
Reading reviews, it seems like the max screen size that is suggested is about 200 centimetres (I presume this means from corner to corner?)... After this, the screen door effect becomes too noticeable, etc etc
My problem is that, looking at the specs, I am not going to be able to get a 200cm image from the spot where I have to mount the PJ, which is 5 metres from the screen. I am looking at more like 350 cm, corner to corner.
I'm taken this info from the projectorcentral calculator BTW
My viewing position will be approximately 4 metres from the screen, and ideally, the PJ will be mounted from the cieling.
Looking at other (more expensive) PJs, it seems that they have a much wider tolerance for placement, whereas this one is quite specific about where it needs to be placed in order to get an image of a particular size. It seems to specialise in being a short-throw PJ, but I don't really want to "coffee table" it as for one, it is quite noisy, and also it would have to point past my large TV on the same wall which may block the line of sight to where the screen is going to sit (above the TV)
Any comments on how a 350cm image will look from this projector, or whether it is possible to get a smaller image from a distance of 5 metres?
Cheers

I have this projector and I think its great
I project onto a 100 inch screen and it looks sweet as
Its no good during the day though and the only let down is the constrast.
The ratio is only 800:1
I would recommend the Z2. Its got a better lense shift... a little
brighter.. has a heaps better contrast (1300:1) and also have a DVI
connection

Great projector, but let down by high running costs.
