Available commercially for the first time in Australia... I have for sale a
range of absolute BEST quality, RCA - RCA coaxial 75 Ohm , monster-slaying
home cinema cables.

Perfect for use with a subwoofer, connecting the digital audio output of a
DVD player to an AV Receiver, RGB video, shorter runs of Component video (up
to 5 metres) or simply as a hifi cable from your CD player to your amp.
These cables represent MONSTER quality for a MICRO price. Hand made to
order, fully tested and constructed from only the finest, Japanese-made
Canare brand materials.

For each cable, the following prices apply:

First metre: $35 AUD
Each Subsequent metre: $10 AUD

Bear in mind that for component video, you will need three cables. For
digi-coax / subwoofer, only one cable is required per application. Stereo
hifi requires 2 cables. 3 or more cables bought together (eg 1 set of
component / RGB leads, or multiple buys) attract a 10% discount off the
total price.

Overnight express post delivery by Australia Post is included in the price.
Currently available in red, orange, purple and green. Black available from
10th Oct 2004... Can also be terminated with Canare Precision BNC connectors
if required...

There are plenty of sources of images and technical information on the web.
Just do a search for "Canare LV-61S" and compare the US dollar and UK Pound
prices to my Australian Dollar rates - and remember, express postage is
included in the price!

For orders, more info, pictures, specs etc please contact cable_merchant
(AT) dodo dot com dot au.

Technical info follows.....

These cables are made from 100% Canare brand materials. The cable is Canare
LV-61S - a lightweight., flexible RG-59 75 Ohm Coaxial cable. This is a
broadcast-industry standard cable, used in professional applications such as
TV editing suites and outside broadcast facilities, and perfect for home AV
use. The flexible center conductor is stranded bare copper with a special
foam polyethylene dielectric (for maximum loss prevention) and a tightly
woven > 94% coverage bare copper braid shield for excellent interference
rejection.

The Connectors are again Canare-branded RCAP-C53 RCA plugs - regarded by
most professionals as the finest RCA connector available, due to its "True
75 Ohm" impedance characteristic. At analogue audio frequencies, this is
less relevant, but for digital audio and even more so for video, the
connector has a huge impact on the quality of the data transmission. A
typical "off the shelf" RCA connector, as you will find on all but the most
expensive of RCA leads, will severely degrade the signal due to the
extremely poor return loss performance when mated with precision 75 Ohm
coaxial video cable. In fact they are virtually unusable for 6Mhz video
streams (HDTV etc), high bandwidth RGB or Component video lines, and DVD
digital audio bitstreams.

These connectors are impedance matched to 75 Ohm, providing a usable
bandwidth of up to 200 MHz. To give you a practical idea of the quality of
their construction - Each connector features Brass, Nickel, Phosphor, Tin,
Gold, Copper AND Gold.... And they're not cheap, each connector alone
retails at $9 AUD, in bulk!

The cables are all hand-made using the finest Canare crimp tools -
absolutely no solder is used, guaranteeing you a perfect, high strength,
air-tight connection. Cable is stripped with the Canare TS-100E cable
stripper, which cuts the cable in three places to exactly match the
specifications of the RCA connector.

Performance wise, for home cinema, this cable is about as good as you are
ever going to get. This is Canare's top selling coaxial cable, and is an
industry-standard product. Canare LV-61S is the perfect solution for all
home cinema applications, due to its superior electro-magnetic interference
rejection, great flexibility and high bandwidth. The finish is a joy to
behold as well. Why spend 100s of dollars on big name branded cable
products, when you can have an industry-standard, broadcast quality
interconnect for less than half the price? You wouldn't catch a professional
engineer going near the monsters of this world... The Pros use high quality
cable and the best connectors money can buy. And that is exactly what I have
on offer here today.

Brilliant cable, and I know one has to make a living, but the stuff retails
for $2.60 a metre in 153 metre rolls...
Just goes to show how much of a ripoff the esoteric cables are!

Yes indeed, one of the finest, flexible coaxial cables on the planet.

....but it takes more than just the cable to make a quality interconnect -
The Canare connectors cost money, the Canare tools cost *a lot* of money.
Packaging and postage costs money, and time costs money. Take all that into
consideration and I think you'll find that $35 AUD for a metre is a pretty
good deal.

I couldn't agree with you more! I make no claims to this being an esoteric
or boutique cable - in fact quite the opposite - All the raw materials used
in this product are fully disclosed. Canare LV-61S cable and Canare RCAP RCA
connectors. It's all about bringing the very same cable systems used by the
professional broadcast industry to the home consumer, so you don't have to
pay "monster" prices for maximum performance...

I wish you luck. I still have about 20 pieces of the Canare ultra-high
spec 5 core cable, V5-5C, so you could do RGB/Component and s-video in the
one cable, if anyone is interested.

Thanks - but I am not really focusing on 5-core cables - too much of a niche
market. And anyway, I don't have the die set to be able to work with them...

I am actually getting quite a lot of interest in the LV-61S... It's an
excellent all-round cable that has so many applications. I'll soon have a
reel of LV-77S for absolute premium subwoofer performance (there is no
better subwoofer cable system than Canare connectors and LV-77S cable) and
also a batch of 3-way V3-4CFB for absolute premium quality component
video....

Thanks to everyone who has been reading this thread for your interest so
far!!!

quite true.
it's extremely naive to just look at raw material costs and then say
something is a ripoff.

good luck with your venture.

Thanks for your words of support! Last of the batch selling quick...
there'll be no more of these cables for a few weeks as I am awaiting another
batch of connectors. Just 22 metres left as of 23:30 04/10/04 (approx 10
