What XMS-888 Firmware is EM311D20D4A ?

I just bought an XMS-888 and upon accessing the region/version menu i have found the code EM311D20D4A, is this 1.2b firmware ? If not what is it...

Well, it is a good question, however I don't know.
Perhaps jok11n may know.
As far as I am aware, DF002B was the latest (http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~wweb/xms888/firmware_page.htm), all I can say is that the factory has not given any later version (than DF002A) for download, so if it is a relatively newish 888 (without the red leds), there is no version available for download newer than what is on your machine at the present.
Don't change your current version, as it is probably better than anything downloadable, and you won't be able to get back to your current version. (unless the factory releases it)

I will see the manufacturer next week, I'll see if it is possible to get a copy of the shipping firmware, Andw if you are interested in researching the ESS chipset like you have done with the MTK let me know and I will arrange a donor unit for you.

I'm still in China at the moment and haven't seen the manufacturer as yet, once I do and have some info I'll post details.

I met with the supplier tonight and have requested a copy of the firmware from the shipping version and they indicated that it would be no problem, not sure how fast it will happen but at least it sounds positive so far.

Sounds like the DF002B firmware would be better to get than the EM**** one.
perhaps you could twist their arm for both, then users could try them and find out which one works better for them....

They will give it to me no problem, whether they can work out what I am referring to may be a challenge though.

just bought 888 model. i hope this DF002B firmware is also not forgotten. Overall im still happy with unit. I only have one divx file which is edit: No Names series. works well for me.

Still waiting, shouldn't be too much of a problem though, we have another order pending from them (different product) which usually helps when you need something from them. I'll post details when I get any news.
