hi all, I bought the screenplay 4805 and a 96 " screen today and now my
existing amp isnt up to scratch. Its lacking in the Component inputs and the
Up switching of other inputs to the component output. Im in a dilemma asto
which amp. Ive narrowed it down to either Yamaha rxv 750 or Denon AVR 2105.
Power wise these I believe would be more than suffice and the Denon is about
$450 cheaper which is great for me on a budget. Can I PLEASE have your
opinions and any related info. Cheers Shaun

BTW Im buying tomorrow. Thanks

Hi Shaun

Can't comment on the Denon but I've just bought a Yamaha RX-V1400 and as far as I'm concerned its brilliant, I understand they are to be replaced by a V1500 which has little change so you may be able to pick one up at a good price. Other than that the V750 is a good maching and it also has video up-conversion, composite or s-video gets converted up to component. I see much written about the differences in the sound of amplifiers but the reality is that for general home use there is far more tonal variation in your speakers and room acoustics than you will ever find in an amplifier so get the one that has the features you want, looks good and fits the bank managers criteria. There is also a lot of rot written about power outputs, the ones you are looking at will have any amount for an average home.
