Well, here comes the next stage of when a console is dying... cheap games.
Went into Harvey Norman today to see they had 50% off the marked price of GC Games.
They had quite a few left (No Res Evil or Mario Games unfortunately) all for throwout prices.
Here are some of the ones I can remember...
Fifa Football 2003 $35
Madden 2003 $35
Driven (?) $25
Wrestlemania 18 $50
.. with most around the $35 range.
Was almost tempted to buy Fifa and Madden and chuck em on eBay, but ultimately decided against it.
So yeah, for those with GC's, be on the lookout for very cheap games in the near future.

Sure the Cube isn't doing well here. But Nintendo aint SEGA either. The GameCube will continue to be supported until their next console arrives. That's even if Harvey Norman decides to clear out all their bad games (could it be the new stuff was put out the back until the 50% off sale is finished). Wish they'd half the price of GBA software:D
Nintendo just released their 'platinum' range. Pikmin, SSBM and others are now $49 RRP..... Oh no!1 They're dying !!!!!
I dont fear short lived consoles. Only mediocre ones that dominate the market and fill the shelves (and minds of players) with recycled crap.

That's the thing... both Myer (Grace Bros) over here and now Harvey Norman have both said all of their Gamecube items are 'on Clearance' and will not be re-ordered.
I asked will they be getting the latest stuff, and both times got a similar reply - that Nintendo Gamecube hardware or software will no longer be carried by those chains.
Can't say the same for the Eastern stores, but that's the vibe we're getting from the West. :)

Nintendo need to clear out whoever looks after the channel support for the retailers. It looks like things haven't changed after many years. Little or no support to the retailers in terms of marketing, stock controls or supply.
I remember when Pokemon came out, and they advertised the a$$ off it, and then turned around and gave stores like 20 copies to sell..........sheesh.
Arrr well, i don't play that many games, and ill be happy with whats out or coming out soon :)
Its amazing how much Zelda can/will revive the system, much like metroid has done so far.

I dunno.
I'm starting to get the Too Little; Too Late vibe from all this.
Where were Metroid and Zelda six months ago? Before the Christmas Console wars??
